Benalmadena is one of the most popular towns on the coast with many attractions available year round. The most long-established is the impressive, traditional fairground Tivoli World which is set in very pretty gardens with over forty attractions including …. The Twister, the Roller Coaster, Jurassic Adventure, plus the Hall of Terror, the Big Wheel and for the very brave(?) … the 60 mtr. drop Free Fall Tower.

The smallest members of the family have not been forgotten here either … there is an area especially for the little ones with carrousels and merry-go-rounds. They also have their own shows … the Indian Show, Smiles and the Puppet Theatre.

A speciality of Tivoli World are the endless free shows throughout the numerous Squares – Wild West, Can Can, Country and Western, Flamenco.

There is also a great choice of restaurants to suit all pockets but do plan your day well … this is a big park and there is a lot to see. If you’ve never been to this theme park in Benalmadena take the little train around the park first to get your bearings, check the times of the shows … and enjoy !

Next up … a trip to Selwo Marina … a day of pure delight! An exciting expedition to South America without ever leaving the Costa del Sol!
Benalmadena and Torremolinos Theme Parks, Spain
You´ll have the opportunity to see from the faraway land of Patagonia in Chile and Argentina … Lía, Rita, Sandra and Bruno … a friendly, charismatic, sea lion family who like nothing better than showing off for you !

After you’ve had the pleasure of meeting this fanciful foursome stroll along to the Dolphinarium. A large area with five pools… … the biggest one is where the Dolphin Show takes place …and where these beautiful creatures have fun and charm everyone around … and … still more show-offs !

The scene changes now as we walk through the jungles of Brazil. Here prepare to be enchanted by the cockatoos, macaws, parrots and toucans as you cross over the wooden footbridge to the children’s area …
where as well as the usual swings and slides there is a swinging cabin and turrets simulating tree tops, all interconnected and for a while the kids can feel that they are the ´kings` of this particular jungle !

And now the landscape changes once again as we approach the freezing … Ice Island. This fully glazed, rocky peninsula is covered by real snow and polar igloos surrounded by a large area of salt water and is home to the penguin colony. Dozens of Gentoo penguins, native to the waters of the Antarctic also share this fascinating Benalmadena Marina.

So, if you find yourself in this part of the Costa del Sol don’t miss the opportunity and privilege of visiting this unique park … it’s definitely one for the photo album.

Sea-Life Centre in Benalmadena Port is another really fascinating day out … walking through glass tunnels and submerging yourself in the underwater mysteries from a completely different perspective … you can actually smell the sea and hear the sound of the waves !

Looking closely through the coral reefs and perfectly re-created Mediterranean waters you’ll have the opportunity to see thousands of sea creatures from 2 metre long tiger sharks to sea horses, stingrays, sea snakes and the famed deadly blue ringed octopus !

There is also an interactive area with touch pools … with the chance for the children to hold starfish, sea cucumbers and other curious species in their hands.

And, if you still haven’t had enough excitement for the day …you can take your ´motley crew` off to play … Pirate Adventure Mini-Golf ! This is all included in the price …. making it altogether a day out that the kids will never forget !

Last up on our visit to Benalmadena and Torremolinos is the Crocodile Park These days you don’t have to be an intrepid explorer of the Nile or an Indiana Jones to come face to face with these scary monsters !

More than 300 of them live happily here on the Costa del Sol in Crocodile Park There are many species and sizes … but, when you see Big Daddy you´ll be the one with your mouth wide open ! He is HUGE ! Prehistoric, archaic and totally out of proportion … five metres long and weighing in at almost 600 kilos. he is around 80 years old.

But don’t feel too sorry for him as you see him toddling around … he currently has a total of five mates … all of whom re-produce annually !!!

On your visit… you’ll also have the opportunity to visit the crocodile museum and the baby crocodile care centre where the brave ones in the family can actually pick up a baby crocodile … so, whatever you do don’t forget to take the camera !
