Idyllic Camps Bay

A magical Cape Town suburb that lies at the foot of Lions Head and The Twelve Apostles.

We often drive out to Camps Bay from Somerset West where we live, sometimes to go to the beach, and sometimes just to go and have coffee in one of the cafes, or lunch at one of the many restaurants overlooking the palm fringed beach.

Camps Bay properties are some of Cape Town’s most popular and exclusive properties. The location is idyllic, the scenery spectacular and the atmosphere electric.

So what is it that makes this village so unique?

Is it the location?

Camps Bay Properties are Always In Demand

Nestled in the lap of lions Head and Table Mountain, with the Twelve Apostles as Backdrop, it must surely be rated as one of the most spectacular settings in the world!

Sheltered from the South East wind and bathing in the glorious sunshine, Camps Bay properties also enjoys the stunning views over the Atlantic ocean, and of course, the stunning sunsets!

Is it the approach?

Whether you drive down Camps Bay Drive from Cape Town, arrive via Victoria Road from the South or down Kloof Road and onto Victoria Road from the north, the views are just spectacular!

Is it the Beach?

A palm fringed cosmopolitan beachfront with the 700m long powdery white sand and turquoise blue water sets a magnificent scene for the houses, shops and restaurants on the other side of the road.

Come down on a sunny Saturday or Sunday and the beach is filled with umbrellas, beautiful tanned bodies and pedestrians. This beautiful beach is part of the Cape’s Golden Coast, together with nearby Clifton and Llandudno beaches.

Camps Bay beach was also the first Cape Town beach to be awarded Blue Flag Status, and it’s easy to see why.

Is it the exclusivity?

Camps Bay can only be so big…there’s no space to expand, which makes Camps Bay properties extremely valuable.

If you want to be amongst the privileged few to actually live here, be willing to dig deep, even for an old, small house….

You pay for the land and the exclusivity, but the money will be well spent. Property in this area is some of the most prestigious in Cape Town, and prices here only goes one way, and that’s UP!

Is it the restaurants and cafes?

Whether you go for morning breakfast and coffee, lunch or dinner, there is a restaurant serving any type of food you may crave for.

The best time for me to visit one of these eateries, is late afternoon. Sit outside, favourite beverage in hand and watch the spectacular sunset then tuck into a delicious dinner with some of the Cape’s finest wines.

All of the above?

Whatever your reason, one thing is sure, Camps Bay will always stand out as one of the most popular suburbs of Cape Town!
