Charity organizations

Asking friends, some of whom are struggling to keep afloat, to choose charity organizations and donate is not a request I take lightly. These are difficult times for all of us. The worldscape is changing in ways that we only imagined a few short years ago. We are in crisis mode. If you have the wherewithal please choose a charity from this list or browse for an organization of your choice and give today.

Why? Because the best way to see a difference is to be the difference. You may feel that your contribution will have little effect but you would be mistaken. I’ll recount a story that I heard long ago: There was a young boy walking along the beach picking up starfish that had washed ashore and flinging them back into the sea one by one. An old man approached the boy and asked, “Son, why do you bother? The beach is scattered with thousands of starfish. You can’t save them all. What does it matter?” The boy reached down and picked up another starfish. He held it up for the man to see and said, “It matters to this one,” and flung it back into the sea. It’s that simple.
