If you clean house with your awareness in the present moment your heart will sing with joy. A happy heart fears nothing, regrets nothing, takes nothing seriously, and loves life, now.
I’ll bet you are thinking, Is this woman out of her mind?
If we have to clean house, why not enjoy it…
Whether we like it or not, housecleaning is one of those necessary activities that must be done, eventually.
If you can afford to hire a cleaning service, great, there are lots of us who enjoy being paid for doing what we love.
But, what if you prefer to spend your money elsewhere? Why not clean house in a peaceful and joyful state of mind rather than stressing about it and being a victim to it? It’s definitely healthier for you.
Here is how you can make the best of this worthwhile household activity. All it takes is a shift in consciousness.

House cleaning – a mindful meditation…
Unless you have experienced the awesome peace and joy of meditation, you may not believe that it can help you enjoy housecleaning. So rather than believe anything I say here, I encourage you to go ahead now and read the benefits of meditation, and learn about the Ishayas Ascension – an easy meditation for beginners.
House cleaning is therapeutic…
A quiet mind is a requirement for conscious awareness in the present moment.
This 5-10 minute exercise at stop the mind chatter will show you how to quiet your mind which naturally relaxes your body. Go ahead now and try it, and come on back.

You are not your thoughts…
If you have progressed through the readings and exercise that I recommended above, you will know now that you are not your thoughts. How can you be your thoughts if you can watch them?
Nor are you the lies of your false ego thoughts…
Consider this scenario for example. If your mother was critical of your attempts to help her clean when you were three years old, then your impression of that experience might be I’m not very good at cleaning.
A few repetitions of that criticism will bring you down to feelings of disappointment and thoughts of I am a dismal failure.
Can you see how self-limiting and self-defeating those false ego thoughts are? They are lies that you believe to be true about yourself. Is it any wonder that you do not like to clean house?
Here you might find it helpful to go to negative self talk for further elaboration on the false ego mind.
Let go of your beliefs and judgments.
Allow your childish innocence to be re-awakened.
Love every moment as if there was no other moment.
Keep your conscious awareness in the present moment, breath, relax, take it easy. If you approach housecleaning with the innocence of a child, you will be delighted with the newness of each step along your way.
A happy heart has direct access to infinite wisdom and intelligence. Allow it to guide you to your highest and best action.
You will experience fewer physical accidents, less breakage of valuable possessions, and hidden, out-of-sight areas will pop into your awareness, begging to be cleaned.
You might also discover hidden beauty in furniture you have unconsciously cleaned for years. Patterns in grains of wood will suddenly come to life as you clean away a layer of dust.
A hand cut crystal vase will be transformed from dull and lifeless to alive and sparkling. I’m telling you, thar’s gold in dem der hills.
