Curtains for balcony window and an awkward little window

By Brenda

Hi,
I have a balcony sliding door, and approximately 1 foot to the left is another window that is not quite the same height, nor length of the balcony door. Should i treat these as two separate windows when dressing them, or not? I want to use drapes.

thanks for your help.

Curtains for balcony window and an awkward little window

Hi Brenda

It all depends on how much lower the small window is from the slider window. If it’s just a few inches. Then you could hang the curtains from the same height. Then have the curtains on both to the floor.

You could go up to a maximum of eight inches over the small window with your curtains before it start to look a bit odd.

If the heights between the windows are more. Then I would not try and keep them at the same height. I would be tempted to put curtains on the slider window. Then fit a roman shade in the same fabric on the small window. Then they will compliment each other without trying to be exactly the same.

Best regards
