Easter is much more than just bunnies & eggs

Growing up, Easter was nothing more than coloring eggs & finding hidden candy. Remember that 4 lb. hollow chocolate bunny? Is this really what it’s all about?

Not even close! I wish I had grown up knowing what this holiday meant because it’s really all very beautiful & spiritual.

We may not have grown up knowing why we celebrate this glorious holiday, but it is never too late to learn. We can teach our kids what we wish we knew then! What an amazing gift to give to our kids!

Every year as Easter approaches, the stores are filled with jelly beans, candy eggs & bunnies, & egg-dying kits. Stuffed bunnies are everywhere & real bunnies are sold on every street corner.

Easter is much more than just bunnies & eggs

We need to know, however, that it isn’t simply a commercial spring festival about dyeing & hiding eggs or wearing new clothes.

“Jesus said unto her I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in
me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; And whosever liveth and believeth
in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” (John 11:25-26)

Easter is the celebration of Jesus Christ’s return to life after his crucifixion. It is usually celebrated on the first Sunday after the full moon following the first day of Spring. This can be any Sunday between March 22nd and April 25th. It is the
most sacred of all Christian holidays or celebrations. Along with Christmas, Easter is considered one of the oldest and most joyous days on the Christian calendar.
