Eliminate Web Browser Spyware

Why use a web browser other than Microsoft’s Internet Explorer? To eliminate browser spyware and other malicious software.

Like email, your web browser is a prime target for the bad guys on the internet. It turns out that many of the features that have been included in Internet Explorer are “exploited” to put unwanted advertising software on your computer.

By using a web browser that is specifically designed to “close the holes” you get less bad stuff from the Internet (pop-ups, toolbars, hijackers).

Does this mean an end to Internet Explorer? Microsoft works to improve Internet Explorer and provides security updates every now and then. Some web sites, that have been designed for Internet Explorer, will not allow you to use other browsers.

In most cases an alternate browser such as Firefox or Opera will work great. If you run into a site that requires Internet Explorer, then just switch over to it. You can have both browsers open at the same time if you like.
