Fat Burning Food Recipes for Snacks

1 cup of natural pear juice
3 eggs
2 cups of whole meal self-raising flour
1 cup of sultanas
4-5 chopped dried figs
5-6 chopped pitted dates
2 tablespoons of golden syrup
2 tablespoons of soy milk

Combine the pear juice with the three eggs into a bread maker, or stir until combined. Add slowly the whole meal flour until all flour is mixed. Add the dried fruit and golden syrup. Add soy milk and mix until all ingredients are combined. Mix vigorously for 10 minutes – this is where the bread maker comes in handy. Pour into muffin baking tray and bake in a moderate oven for 15 minutes. If making a fruit cake, add cinnamon and nutmeg. Great alternative Christmas Cake !

Makes 15 muffins.

Watermelon Water

Slice and cube half a watermelon.

Blend the watermelon in the blender and add water to thin the watermelon to desired consistency.

Watermelon contains a carotenoid called Lycopene. Research has found that it has anti-oxidant properties and when either frozen or fresh watermelon juice is consumed, it increases the level of beta-carotenoids within the blood.

While it does not have direct fat burning properties, anti-oxidants help to keep your body healthy and functioning optimally, which should be your prime objective when losing weight.

Quick Fruit In Style

1 medium canteloupe or honeydew melon
1 punnet strawberries
1 small canned pear halves or 2 fresh pears
2 small apples – washed, chopped with skin
100g green or black grapes
1 peeled and sliced orange
1 skinned and sliced kiwi fruit
2 oranges
1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

Cut the top off the canteloupe or honeydew melon. Dig the flesh out of both halves of the melon and put aside. Discard the top of the melon and put the bottom half aside for later.

Wash the fruit (strawberries, pears, apples, grapes and sliced orange) where necessary and cut into manageable portions. Mix thoroughly with the flesh of the melon.

Squeeze the 2 oranges and lemon.

Place the freshly cut fruit into the bottom half of the melon, along with the orange juice. Add 1 teaspoon of the lemon juice.

Store in the refrigerator covered until consumption. Snack whenever you like.
