Healthy Snacks For Kids And Their Unhealthy Eating Habits

Elvis Elvis

Finding healthy snacks for kids can be a challenge. I know it was for my wife and I. That’s why we are dedicated to serving our youth with treats that are healthy for their bodies. Also, to see kids make smarter choices when it comes to snacking.

Have you ever heard these questions before?

“Hi Mom! Are there any snacks left?”

“Mom, can you buy more potato chips? I’m hungry.”

“Please just one more cookie?”

“Can I have 1 more piece of candy pleeeease?”

Sounds familiar? No, I was not listening outside your window yesterday.

We hear that everyday in our home from our kids. I know I do. With the fast pace in which we live in, we tend to stack our cabinets with all kinds of treats for our children. That’s why it is so important to have healthy snacks for kids of all ages.

Hi my name is Miguel Conner. My beautiful wife Monique and I have 3 children (Elijah 10, Gabrielle 9 and John 7). We are just ordinary parents who want to see our children eat healthy and still enjoy being a kid.

Healthy Snacks For Kids And Their Unhealthy Eating Habits

In the grocery store, I’m sure you see the check out line filled with candies, chocolate, chips, sodas etc. My wife and I were at a grocery store shopping one day. At the checkout line, she took a candy bar and read the label to me. I could not believe all the food coloring and chemicals being used in one candy bar! Now, I’m thinking to myself, “I grew up eating these things.” Finding healthy snacks for kids was never an issue growing up for our parents. In the 40′s, 50′s and 60′s, snacks and foods were not filled with all the preservatives, food coloring and chemicals.

It was at that moment we decided to start giving our kids healthier treats.

That was 9 years ago. Now, we serve healthy food snacks for our kids and they are enjoying them. They are eating healthier and do not miss the food coloring or preservatives of the different foods. We have substituted the commercial foods for healthier organic foods. We have not looked back since! Our kids enjoy these treats after school or on a long trip or even just to munch on. Providing healthy snacks for kids whether ours or anyone else’s is now our main goal.

Making healthy choices is tough enough given the amount of decisions we have to make each day. But what’s probably the toughest is getting a child to change their eating habits. Here are some tips that we want to share that has worked for us and for our friends:

1. Start slowly! Add before you take away.

2. Encourage the kids to participate in preparing snacks.

3. Introduce new snacks to their friends when they come over so that it is “cool”.
