How do I make a step by step plan to get me to my happy place?

Elvis Elvis

First you begin by setting a S.M.A.R.T goal. There are many variations of this acronym, but this is one I follow. Set a goal that is…

Specific

Measurable

Achievable

Realistic

Time Specific

Example: I will have my English Essay finished by 8:00pm Thursday night.

It is specific because it gives details about the goal (English essay), it is measurable because you will see if it is finished or not. It is achievable given the task. It is realistic and time specific by stating 8:00pm as a completion time.

Once you have set your goals, break them down into a smaller goals as a schedule for the coming week. Write down your plan to execute the goal. Plan each day.

How do I make a step by step plan to get me to my happy place?

Example: Monday from 6:00pm – 8:00pm I will decide upon my topic through internet research and personal interest in the topic.Tuesday from 6:00pm – 8:00pm – I will have the first draft written. I will proof read it once and then give a copy to my mom to proof read again.Wednesday From 6:00pm – 7:30pm – I will make the necessary changes to the essay and proof read my second draft of the essay.Thursday from 6:00pm – 8:00pm – I will revise my second draft and complete my final draft. I will make a title page and index.

My English teacher once told me how she plans each day. She makes 2 lists, one list includes all important tasks that must be accomplished by the end of that day. The second list is full of tasks that she works on if she finishes all the ones listed on her first list. It is a list of priorities.

It is important to break down your long term plans into daily goals that are achievable. By focusing on today’s tasks, you have made an easily attainable plan to get you to your future happy place. Once you have achieved your daily plans you can realize that you have taken one step closer to reaching your goals.
