How To Change Windows Display Settings?

Right-click on an empty area of your Desktop. This will open a pop-up menu. Select Properties by clicking the left mouse button on it once. This will open the Windows Display Properties dialog box window.

The Display Properties dialog box will be open with the Themes tab to the front.

Left-click on the Settings tab to bring it to the front.

In the lower left area of the Settings window, there is an area named Screen resolution. Place your mouse pointer on the slider bar, press and hold the left mouse button, and slide this bar to the screen resolution that you want.

In the lower right area the Settings window, you can change the Color quality by left-clicking the drop-down arrow and selecting the quality level.
Click the Apply button.

At this point you may have one of two different boxes display. The Compatibility Warning window is suggesting that you restart your computer after changing the Display Settings. This usually isn’t necessary.

If you find that you have display problems, you can always restart Windows later. If you just want to be safe, go ahead and choose the restart option.

You may also have a Monitor Settings question dialog box pop up telling you that you’ve just changed your desktop settings and asking if you want to keep these settings.

If you’re happy with the way the display looks, click the Yes button. If things don’t look like you’d expected, then click the No button and then you can start over trying a different setting.
