Plus Size Denim

Elvis Elvis

When building a plus size wardrobe, don’t forget the denim accessories. Although they may change a little of this and a little of that, basic denim is here to stay. Why? You may ask? The reason denim is always so popular is because you can do so much with it. How many fabrics can you wear as a construction worker and then dress it up for a night on the town. Only denim!

I was really lucky to find the most amazing plus size denim from a family owned business who not only takes pride in the quality of their clothing designs, they specialize in plus size clothing. Now if you know anything about me, you’ll know that I am all about a business that is “family owned” and operated. I’m always rooting for the “little guy” and love a “small time company that “makes it big” story. This company has been making denim for years and they are actually sensitive enough to make clothing that fits everyone. They carry from a 1X to a 5X in their clothing line. I think most of the top designers are more concerned with having their designs showing up on the red carpet than caring about who their clothing actually fits. (my rant…sorry…) Therefore, these designers make small clothing that fits less a small percentage of the population. Whatever! It makes no sense to me.

Anyway, this company embroiders or hand paints their denim and it comes in light denim, dark denim or white. Myself, I just like the plain denim without all the embellishments, but that’s a personal choice. I’d like to know your feelings on this. I have photos of all the various designs and need to know which you like. The company swears they sell more of the hand painted than anything else.

I was really thrilled when I found AC Clothing. Their denim is very high quality. The fabric is substantial and is every bit of the quality of Lauren Denim. I work with Ralph Lauren clothing quite a bit, am used to the fabric and designs, and like it.

Available are skirts and skirt sets, pant sets and dresses. One reason I like the plain is because I like to do my own accessorizing. I can take one denim dress and get 10 various looks from it! You can wear different belts with it, layer it with jackets, vests or sweaters. You can wear it as a tunic with leggings. You can also accessorize with jewelry. Or come up with some ideas of your own. If they’re embellished, you can only wear it a few times.I put a couple of designs here for you to view. I have them listed on ebay, for now. If you’re interested, please let me know.
