Poker Tip – Staying in control of your emotions

Elvis Elvis

Staying in control of your emotions at the table is critical to becoming a good poker player. Bad beats, losing sessions, bad runs of cards, and annoying opponents happen to all of us. The best thing to do is just learn to live with it and don’t let your emotions control you at the table.

Of course, it’s easy to say not to get mad when you are not there, at the table, in the moment. However, getting emotional at the table leads to poor decision making, which leads to losing your stack.

If you find yourself really steamed after something that happened at the table, just get up and take a walk. Calm down, collect your thoughts, and regain your composure. Don’t let your emotions rule you or it will cost you a lot of money. Like I said, bad beats, losing sessions, etc. happen to all of us, so just take it in stride and do your best to stay on top of your game.
