Product Review – Topeak Hexus 16 Bike Multi-Tool

Elvis Elvis

You know that riding with a tool kit or multi tool is a requirement. Hey, things rattle loose once and a while or come off all together. Having a multi-tool is a necessity.

Although I’m a huge fan of the Leatherman (still keep one in my saddlebags) it doesn’t have all the tools needed for bicycle repair. A while ago, I purchased a Topeak Multi-Tool and have thanked my lucky stars for it too many times.

The Topeak Hexus 16 Bike Multi-Tool is a sturdy piece of equipment. I’ve cranked on the Topeak so hard that I was sure it would snap but no, it took the torque. The tool opens and collapses easily. It has the mass and density of a shop tool.

The one downside of the Topeak Hexus 16 Bike Multi-Tool is the 5mm socket adapter is a bit ungainly. There is a rubber “O” ring that went bye-bye not long after I bought the tool. The socket tends to slide loose and a slip up and down while you’re using another attachment. If you keep the socket locked in place, you can overlook the minor frustration.

All in all the Topeak Hexus 16 Bike Multi-Tool is a rugged, worthy instrument I highly recommend. CyclingParent.com gives the Topeak Hexus 16 Bike Multi-Tool a thumbs up.
