Slow Cooker Country Style Spareribs with Orange Sauce

INGREDIENTS:

5 pounds country-style pork spareribs
salt and pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 large onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 can (16 ounces) tomatoes, chopped and undrained
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup dry white wine or chicked stock
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons cider vinegar

Broil ribs for 30 minutes or until browned; cut into serving size pieces; season with salt and pepper. Heat oil in skillet; add onion, garlic, and cinnamon; cook 4 to 5 minutes or until softened. Place mixture to slow cooker. Combine tomatoes with juice, orange juice, wine (or stock), brown sugar, and vinegar; pour into slow cooker. Add ribs and stir to combine all ingredients. Cover and cook on “low” heat for 8 to 10 hours or until ribs are tender.
