Spanish Por Favor Application

While living abroad…

You have the option to live with a native family while studying abroad and learning Spanish. This is called a homestay. All homestays start on Sundays and end on Saturdays. The Homestay experience is highly recommended and living with a native family will expose you to the language in a natural, social context, and you will have to apply what you have learned in your day-to-day interactions with you host family. This real-life exposure to Spanish will increase your confidence and ability to communicate in Spanish! In addition, all Affiliate Spanish language schools and homestay families have a “Spanish Only” policy that is maintained.

Spanish Por Favor Application

There will be a charge of $20 for additional days. This is usually not a problem, just kindly make requests for extra days with the director Emma or owner Nuria at IPEE, Cost Rica.

Extending your stay and taking more Spanish classes is not a problem either. You will more than likely want to stay an extra week or so. I’m telling you…Get ready to have the time of your life and experience total immersion Spanish education at its best!

Do not forget to specify on the Spanish Por Favor Application any special preferences like dietary requirements, any known allergies, smoking or non-smoking homestay, family with kids, single woman with no kids, and/or anything else that is going to contribute to making your Homestay experience a quality one. We will do our very best to accommodate your requests.

Why choose the Homestay?

The homestay experience allows students to practice and improve on the Spanish they learned in class. Furthermore, it exposes you, first hand, to the culture, food, language and way of life of your host family.

This option is when the student lives with a host family, shares meals, facilities, and practices Spanish in a traditional and friendly environment. The homestay option is highly recommended and promised to increase your oral proficiency as well as facilitate Spanish language acquisition!

Apartment…

Living in an apartment is another option while studying abroad and learning Spanish. Most often, apartments are for those who want to live alone or with a group of friends or colleagues. You can choose from a studio, one or two-bedroom apartment located close to IPEE, Costa Rica.

Like I said, this option has worked extremely well for Spanish Por Favor clients who study abroad and learn Spanish with a group of people who all want to live together. The apartments are always walking distance or a short bus or taxi ride away from the Spanish Affiliate language schools. The typical apartment will have one or two beds, fully equipped bathroom with towels, kitchenette with refrigerator and other services to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. Rent is usually paid every week and it is set by Costa Rican standards.
