The travel diet is an idea of what to eat when we’re on the move. The problem really is that other foods are so much easier to eat and we don’t have to go out of our way to find healthier versions. It’s worse when we’re on a plane and the food is front of us and we know that there’s nothing else.

If we travel a lot, then we need a plan. We need to prepare and have time to prepare. Just as we take our lunch to work, school, college, so we can take a ‘lunchbox’. How much you need depends on how the length of your flight.

Make a few great sandwiches on grainy bread, using low fat cream cheese, sun dried tomatoes, baby green leaves or choose other ingredients. Chop carrot, celery, and sprinkle with a little lemon juice. Take some easy to eat fruit. In most cases we have to eat the foods before getting off the plane because of quarantine rules!
