UK Cuisine – Pear and Raisin Crumble Recipe

Pear and Raisin goes really well together and this recipe makes a change from the traditional apple crumble.

Difficulty Rating: Easy

Serves: 4 – 6

2 x 410g tin of pears in natural juice
50g raisins
For the Crumble:
50g cold butter, cut into cubes
50g granulated sugar
50g muscavado sugar
100g all purpose flour

Drain the juice from the pears, reserving 2 tbsp of the juice. Pour the juice over the raisins and allow to soak for 30 min to make them plump. Whilst waiting; preheat the oven to 200C. In a large bowl place the crumble ingredients. Rub the butter into the sugar and flour until it forms a breadcrumb like consistency. Place the pears in an ovenproof dish and scatter with the raisins and juice. Pack the crumble mixture loosely on top of the pears and place in the oven for 30 – 35 min or until golden.
