Breed Characteristics: An energetic small dog that is especially affectionate, very intelligent and is extremely easy to train. Surprising as it may seem, these little guys were once trained as fighting dogs, and this may account for the aggression that some males may have towards other animals. This can be easily controlled through proper training and regular exercise though. They are very excited dog, which may have a tendency to get hyper, although this can be excellent for playing with the kids. Boston Terriers love being part of the family.

With a stocky, muscular build, they have adorable sad faces with protruding eyes, a wide and short muzzle, and perky raised ears. A very short coat of either black and white or brindle and white makes grooming especially easy with the Boston Terrier. Depending on the size of the parents, these little dogs have a wide weight range from as small as 10 pounds to as large as 25 pounds. Fairly low to the ground, they may only reach 15 inches. Keep in mind that their short, wide faces may make them susceptible to breathing problems like snoring, and trouble with breathing in extreme weather conditions.
