Window treatment for off-center sliding glass doors

In my living room, I have wall with 2 sliding glass doors out to a patio. But the doors are at one end of the wall and very off-center. What window treatments would you recommend that would allow light in but frame the glass doors nicely – since it is the focal point when you walk into the room. (My living room is traditional, early American).

Hi Debbie

I would not try to make your window treatment look central on your wall. It only works if the window is of set by a few inches.

As to the kind of window treatment that would work in this style of room. I would think a chunky wood pole/rod with decorative finials would work well. Then hang buckram headed curtains either double or triple pleat heading.

I would fit a pole/rod that is long enough to sit 12 inches wider than your window on both sides. this will allow you to stack your curtains mostly off the window for maximum light.

Best Regards
