Window treatment for two sliding patio doors next to each other

by Chris
(Texas)

I am going to put 2″ faux wood white blinds throughout my new home (budgeting is an issue), but I don’t particularly like vertical blinds for the two side by side patio doors in my living room that lead out to the patio.

There is about a foot of wall space separating the two six foot patio doors. I have thought about casual grommeted drapery on rods but wonder if it will be a nuisance pulling them opened and closed each day?

They also would not work to filter light if left completely open. I wonder if faux plantation shutters would be feasible? Could I install something like that myself? What do you suggest? Thank you! Chris

Hi Chris

Did you mean you don’t like any vertical blinds, or just the fabric kind. If you did not know you can get faux wood vertical blinds. These would go great with your other blinds.

If your interested in Faux wood vertical blinds, take a look at these.

I personally would not fit plantation shutters on sliding patio doors. It would be real pain to use the doors.

If you like grommet top curtains, then what about sheer grommet top curtains. These would filter the light into your room. The only drawback you would not get total privacy. If this does not matter then take a look at some Sheer grommet panels

If you need total privacy then fit a double curtain rod. Then fit some standard grommet curtains on the front rod. Then fit some sheer grommet curtains on the back rod.

Hope that gives you some food for thought.

Best regards

Lee
