You need this healthy food list

So it’s okay for me to say to you, get healthy, but how do you do that?

My healthy food list is a great place to start.

Fruits and vegetables

Basically, summed up, (don’t switch of just yet!), it’s your ordinary, everyday, run of the mill, fruits and vegetables.

Iron rich foods, high protein foods, whole foods, foods rich in vitamins and minerals.

Green foods

These get a pretty bad rap. And media has been great at convincing us that the food we really want, is the fast food, junk food, devoid of nutritional value foods. You know, Wendy’s, McDonalds, the taste like plastic, stick to the roof of your mouth type foods.

The foods we consume everyday is damaged permanently by genetic engineering, has been nutritionally destroyed with multitudes of chemicals, and has been over processed.

The bread you buy has been made with preservatives and additives, (to replace the natural goodness taken out in the milling and cooking process).

Foods to avoid

Our declining health is mostly due to an incredible reduction in the goodness of our foods.

Our food is lacking in large quantities, the phytochemicals, vitamins, minerals and fibre necessary for good health.

Not to mention the addition of antibiotics, herbicides, pesticides, colourings, preservatives, additives and even GMO.

Did you know

There is an alarming rate of infertility in the country. Never before have we had such high numbers of couples struggling to have children.

But then, never before have we had such a large supply of overprocessed, and chemically enhanced, or should I say, compromised foods.

You need this healthy food list

We can’t keep ingesting sub standard foods, and expect to have a good level of health.

We need to start thinking wisely about what fuel we put into our bodies. You need my healthy food list.

Just because something looks good, doesn’t mean it is good for you.

Just because something tastes good, doesn’t mean it is good for you.

Add these foods in large chunks to your diet. You’ll feel better for it, I guarantee it.

My Healthy Food List

Cruciferous Vegetables, also known as the Brassica family help to prevent cancer.

Research published in the July 2004 journal ‘Carcinogenesis’, written by the Institute for Rood Research in the UK (IFR), led by Ian Johnson, shows how colon cancer cells are disrupted by isothiocyanate. This compound has been shown to induce the liver’s Phase II enzymes, which can detoxify carcinogens.

A few of the Cruciferous vegetables, are

  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower,
  • Cabbage,
  • Brussel Sprouts,

And some vegetables, also known as leafy greens, are still crucifers,

  • Kale,
  • Collard leaves,
  • Watercress,
  • Spinach,
  • Swiss Chard,
  • Beet Greens,
  • Sprouts.

Just to name a few!

And then there are the fruits. You can soothe your intestine, and reduce constipation with fruits. Fruits are loaded with potassium, calcium, phosphorous, iron, and vitamins.

Fruits should only be eaten on an empty stomach. Best as a breakfast food actually.

Our family eats only fruit for our breakfast everyday, and we have energy to spare all morning.

My husband is a farmer, and he eats 5 oranges for breakfast, and has more ‘get up and go’ than he ever did on a cereal breakfast.

  • Oranges,
  • Apples,
  • Bananas,
  • Kiwifruit,
  • Peaches,
  • Nectarines,
  • Dates,
  • Figs,
  • Bluberries,

These are just the basics to add into your diet.

Basically, you can’t go wrong with a solid influx of fresh and raw fruits and vegetables into your diet.

Or can you?

Well, there’s the catch. As you read earlier, our foods have been compromised. You can’t just go to the local supermarket, and buy up large on these healthy foods, and expect great health benefits.

Oh, don’t misunderstand, yes, that would be a great start. But because the foods in your local supermarket have been grown commercially, they have been sprayed, injected, fertilised and genetically modified (in some cases), to look uniform, colourful, and shiny.

But that doesn’t make them ‘good foods’. They are chemically toxic now.

You need to be wiser than that.

Organic foods

You need to find organic foods. Find a local organic farmer, and tap into his supply of fresh, naturally grown fruits and vegetables.

That’s what we do.

We go, once a week, as a family (me and the boys), and we do an hour of weeding in the big garden, in exchange for a small savings on our weekly vegetables. It’s worth it for the health of my family.
